This course is designed to introduce pre-service childhood educators to the world of urban education and their roles as quality educators. The course will acquaint students with the basic theoretical pedagogical practices of teaching. Content will include: the connection between theory and practice as it relates to the role of teachers; instructional methods for teaching diverse student populations; effective classroom practices; organizational strategies; motivation techniques and methods of assessment.

It is my hope that through this course you begin to develop the strategies and communities that you will need to thrive as an educator for many years to come.
